First export
Consultation Content
We received an inquiry from a US company on our website.
Our company manufactures music-related equipment. The US company appears to be an importer and wholesaler of music-related equipment.
The inquiry was, "We would like you to send us a sample of your product so we can check its performance and, if possible, become a retailer."
If the sample is well received, a contract will be signed as a sales agent and exports will begin.
Please tell me what I should be careful of.

Samples are provided for a fee, so we recommend that you request payment in advance and export after confirming receipt of the payment. In addition, when exporting products other than food and wood, the "Security Export Control" list regulations and catch-all regulations may apply depending on the destination country. We explained how to determine whether a product is subject to the regulations on the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry website and sent a sample of a non-applicable certificate. This is a necessary measure even if it is just for the purpose of sampling.
We will provide the following support in the future:
・Creating instruction manuals for overseas markets ( free introduction of translators with specialized knowledge )
・Support for creating distributor contracts ( overseas expansion consulting )
・Introduction to PL insurance
・Acquisition of UL certification, which is necessary for electrical equipment products for the US market ( Support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Overseas Market Development Project )
